Quality Control Technician

 Iowa Staffing is seeking qualified candidates for a 1st Shift Quality Control Technician position for a manufacturing company. Must have previous Quality Control experience. The job will involve working with recycled plastic products. Will need to communicate on technical and production levels and relay quality control information to the production lead as well as the plant manager. Will need good computer skills. This position will require working weekends.  

This is a long-term, temp-to-hire position. 

Schedule

Rotating shift: 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 3 days off 

1st Shift:  6 am - 6:30 pm 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform finished good quality tests to ensure products meet or exceed company standards
  • Provide daily press recommendations based on quality statistics to drive product improvements
  • Perform material certifications on new products for manufacturing feasibility
  • Analyze data to track trends of press performance
  • Monitor quality parameters throughout the production shift, and make manufacturing changes based on parameter trends
  • Conduct employee training on quality and production specifications
  • Daily product,  process, and system audits
  • Actively pursue and correct issues that negatively affect the quality of the product
  • Confirm and organize calibration of lab equipment
  • Ability to work with a team of engineers to drive positive change on the floor
  • Use statistical data to help drive projects to ensure positive outcomes
  • Properly manage all Quality holds to ensure isolation and prevent accidental shipment.

Requirements

  • Must have 2+ years of recent, verifiable quality control experience in a manufacturing setting 
  • High School Degree
  • Demonstrated intermediate skills with the standard features of various personal computer word processing and spreadsheet software (Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, and other proprietary software).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment
  • Demonstrated ability to act independently upon information and make decisions that achieve optimal results.
  • Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
