Shipping Coordinator

Schedule

Monday-Friday  with weekends and overtime as assigned 

                  1st:    6 am - finish

Position Details

The Shipping Coordinator will oversee the loading and unloading of company products and supplies from incoming and outgoing tractor trailers or other types of vehicles in a safe, timely, and quality manner. The Shipping Coordinator will be responsible for the inventory of finished products. The Shipping Coordinator will also be accountable for directing shipping trucks to designated areas in a safe manner. Responsibilities

  • Assign loads to be picked by operators, verify locations for staging, and notify when loads are ready.
  • Complete all necessary SAP transactions for picking, loading, and shipping.
  • Communicate with the sales and production team to verify when the product is due to ship.
  • Prepare and verify all shipping and inventory paperwork.
  • Maintain SAP and update as units are picked and loaded.
  • Assign duties as necessary to direct reports and request assistance from the planner as needed. 
  • Routinely audit loads to prevent loading of product that is not suitable for shipping due to poor packaging, unitizing, or other quality problems.
  • Identify and correct quality problems as they arise.
  • Monitor the system to ensure finished goods are transferred into shipping bins promptly.
  • Maintain consistent professional communication with all.
  • Abide by all safety/environmental policies and procedures.  
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

  • Use of various measurement tools (tape measure, calipers, small power hand tools)
  • Computer: uses various programs 
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills to work with multiple functions in a team environment
  • Interpret product prints for dimensions, tolerances
  • Ability to work with minimal direct supervision MUST be a self-starter
  • Ability to manage your schedule with multiple priorities
  • Able to perform arithmetic calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; working with fractions, decimals, and percentages
  • Good vision and color acuity
  • Minimum Education Required:

                             - High school/GED degree preferred.

  • Minimum Experience/Training Required:

                             - Efficient in ERP/SAP
